Paramount Hotel, Dublin

A stylishly elegant boutique hotel built in 1999, The Paramount is a popular destination for mid-budget travelers to Dublin. Since the hotel is designed to give guests privacy and seclusion from members of the public and its busy Turk's Head bar next door, I don't know The Paramount well myself, but I've heard it's spacious and comfortable, decorated in a 1930s style.
Located at the end of Temple Bar, opposite City Hall and Dublin Castle, a stay at The Paramount puts you within easy reach of Christchurch, Trinity College and all of Dublin's main attractions, not to mention a host of restaurants and bars to suit every budget and taste.
Accommodation
The Paramount's 70 ensuite rooms have all the facilities you'd expect of a modern hotel: telephone, hairdryer, cable TV with in-house movies, tea and coffee making facilities, trouser press and iron (available on request). Rooms are also available for the physically impaired. Their own website boasts that non-smoking rooms are available but, given the smoking laws in Dublin today, you might be better taking a smoking room and hiring out the facility!
Facilities
As already mentioned, while many hotels rely on trade from the general public and locals The Paramount makes a firm distinction between its guest area and the more public enterprise of the Turks Head Chop House. Being on a busy street, this makes sense and can only help to provide a relaxing atmosphere for guests. That said, you'll want to pop next door and try out the Turks Head, a unique pub cum restaurant with an extensive menu at lunchtime and in the evenings. You can read a full review of the Turk's Head here. This lively venue also means that the Paramount Hotel caters for parties and functions.
