Blooms Hotel, Dublin

Blooms Hotel enjoys one of the best locations in the city for the tourist or business traveller, at very affordable rates.
Situated in the heart of Temple Bar next door to the Central Bank of Ireland, Blooms is within easy reach of all the city's tourist and shopping attractions and a short taxi ride (or 15 minutes walk) from the business district and International Financial Services Centre.
When I worked in the Temple Bar area in the past, Blooms was a favourite haunt after work or at lunchtime, not least for their friendly staff and the excellent value of their carvery lunch.
Blooms is the kind of hotel ideal for those who like to be at the centre of activity, on an affordable budget. With a thriving nightclub and lively bar it is especially popular with groups, regular business travellers and the ubiquitous Shane McGowan.
Accommodation
97 comfortable and well appointed rooms with en suite facilities, colour TV and direct dial telephones. Hairdryers, garment presses and safety deposit boxes are available on request.
Food and Drink
The hotel's dining room, The Bia Restaurant. serves a full Irish breakfast in the morning and opens again for candlelit dinners in the evening. Given it's location, you'll be more tempted to get out and try the many and varied restaurants within walking distance of the hotel door. Groups in particular will enjoy the Mongolian Barbeque directly across the road.
The VAT House, formerly The Percy French Bar, was completely redesigned in December 2002. Bright and brash in a Victorian pub style, it is completely unrecognisable from the bar that was there before (and which still features in some of the hotel's brochures). It's a lively place, a great place to meet friends and is one of the few city centre bars to serve up excellent live music at the weekend. The bar stays open late for residents.
As mentioned, The VAT House offers a fine carvery lunch at a good price. The hotel's owners also own two of the best known pubs in Temple Bar, Oliver St John Gogarty's and the Left Bank Bar, both situated down the street from the hotel. Both of these are worth checking out for lunch or an early evening meal.
Below the hotel, Club M has long been one of Dublin's most popular nightclubs. Hotel guests are admitted free to the club from Sunday to Thursday inclusive.
